Apr 15th
Question by mama barney:
Does anyone know of a student loan company that does spousal consolidation?
We know the downside of – if one of us dies the other is responsible for the loan – but we both have such high interest rates and would love to consolidate before they go up again. We are trying to simplify our finances and reap the benefits of smaller payments…

HOW WOULD I ENTER MY INCOME AND AGI FOR STUDENT LOAN CONSOLIDATION ?
Apr 12th
Question by detech69:
How would I enter my income and AGI for student loan consolidation ?
Before I drive to see a financial aid person at the college. I am filling out an on the web application to consolidate my student loans. I am nearly done, however, my 2009 AGI is lower than my present source of income. I put in my 09 AGI and entered my current amount of income. Sense those two do not match will not grant me to continue. Do i enter my new AGI (current) because technically I have not filed my 2010 taxes yet. Should I just send in a paper form with my 09 taxes with a current paystub?

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF ME GETTING A PRIVATE STUDENT LOAN? I HAVE BAD CREDIT BUT A COSIGNER WITH GREAT CREDIT?
Apr 10th
Question by stfu:
What are the chances of me getting a private student loan? I have bad credit but a cosigner with great credit?
I am an independent student, and I need to take out a student loan to help finance some of my educational expenses. My credit score is crappy (573. do to being a dumb teenager that rack up loads of credit card debt….biggest mistake, ever) anyways, I have a cosigner that has extremely good credit. What are my realistic chances of getting approved for a student loan somewhere along the amounts of 25-35,000 dollars?

WHAT IS THE BEST BANK/FINANCIAL INSTITUTION FOR STUDENT LOAN CONSOLIDATION …AND SHOULD I WAIT?
Apr 8th
Question by Ashlee H:
What is the ideal bank/financial institution for student loan consolidation …and should I wait?
I’m looking to consolidate my student loans. All my loans right now are NJ CLASS loans and are at around 6.1% …which is low, but in this climate I am certain I will be able to find lower than 5%. I am interested to know what are the ideal banks/financial institutions to work with (from your experience and knowledge), and should I wait for rates to go lower? I know rates are going down, and fast… how long do you guys feel I should hold-out for? I am pretty sure credit scores factor in, but in any case I am certain it’s “good” to “excellent” (I have not actually checked but I have no outstanding credit card debt and I am 99.999% on time/early with payments on all my credit lines).

Q&A: IS BEING CO-SIGNER FOR STUDENT LOAN AFFECTS MY CREDIT SCORE AND CUT MAXIMUM AMOUNT THAT I CAN POSSIBLY BORROW?
Apr 1st
Question by T G:
Is being co-signer for student loan affects my credit score and cut maximum amount that I can possibly borrow?
I’ve become a co-signer for $ 20000 student loan for my son, who’s not a US citizen or permanent resident yet.
I have a perfect credit history and mortgage free properties. I am planning to sell them off and move to California, purchase property there. And I will need a huge credit line.
Is being a co-signer decreases the amount I can borrow in the future? Thank you.

DO BOTH SPOUSES HAVE TO PAY ON A JOINT STUDENT LOAN CONSOLIDATION IF ONE BECOMES DISABLED?
Mar 30th
Question by Kyle:
Do both spouses have to pay on a joint student loan consolidation if one becomes disabled?
There are two sets of loans in a federal consolidation. But one spouse became seriously disabled and is having a dismissal on his part. All that is left is the other spouse, yet both spouses took out the consolidation. What happens? does it just become the wife’s consolidation or are both still held to it. It doesn’t make any sense if the husband is right back at it and is at risk of a future default. The husband will always pay on the wife’s loans, able to or not.
One of you got confused here. the only thing I am asking is if just the disabled spouse keeeps paying on the other, the loan by the non disabled is still a ongoing loan. Just the obligation of the disabled spouse only. that might occur if something like a divorce ever occurs.
So much for being disabled and trying to pay on the loan for years, now having one foot in the grave due to progression. There is always something to look forward to in this life.
