Student Loan?
My parents pay for college, but I still need money for college books, automobile payments, and etc. Is it possible that I could have my parents pay the school, and I take out a student loan that the bank will pay to me for miscellaneous things while I am in college, so I do not have to worry about making money while I am in college.
If I go to graduate school, could I consolidate the undergrad loan with the loan of the graduate school, so I would not have to pay into the undergrad loan until I graduate from grad school? Thanks.

I hear that usually the lenders do not grant any renegotiation for a lower amount (other than the interest). And you can’t file bankruptcy due to the laws regarding student loans. Is there any other way out? Thanks to all who has any suggestions.

I graduated a few months ago from college and am starting a new job in a few weeks. I have been going through my finances and looking into consolidating my student loans (about $ 35K). All of my student loans are substitute student loans, but can be consolidated. Unfortunately, for the last year of my degree program, I had to rely on credit cards for what the loans did not cover, leaving me with some substantial credit card debt also. Is it possible to consolidate my credit card balances with my student loan consolidation. I would rather make one massive payment on everthing instead of making smaller payments on all the different loans.
