Yes, I am taking steps to rebuild my credit but it takes awhile, I am finding. I have found I can get auto loans, but they refer you to a dealership where you pick out a car. I have found a automobile that I really like, but it’s from a third party. I have also tried RoadLoans and was declined. Anyone know of a lender that will give me a loan where I do not have to purchase from a dealer? Thanks!

A friend of mine applied for an auto loan from her credit union, and I am just wondering how these work…she filled out the application and put $ 10,000 as the max. Does that mean she gets a $ 10,000 check if everything works out and she concurs to the APR? How do they know the money is spent on a car? Do you deposit it into your account or sign it over to the automobile dealer?

Wait so you need to show them some receipt? What do you tell the dealer – you are interested in buying but need the loan? Or do you actually sign a contract with intent to buy if loan goes through???

I no longer work and thought I could afford to make payments when I had a job. The dealership hasn’t found a bank to finance me because all the credit union that called me to verify credit and employment, I told them I was not employed (which is the truth). So the loans was denied.

I put down the accurate yearly income on the application and the dealer approved the loan for me. They did a credit check approved the loan. The dealer is telling me that the loan was approved already and there is nothing further I need to do. It seems odd that the bank would not be requiring proof of income.
