Question by writersblock:
Can I withdraw an on the web federal direct student loan consolidation application.?

I filled out an on the web federal student loan consolidation application, and decided against going that route. I filled out the application and promissory note on Friday. Will the DOE grant me to withdraw the application on Monday?

The answer will depend on something that I cannot predict, and that is whether or not the loan has already been disbursed. I am going to guess that the Department of Education is not quite efficient enough to have already disbursed a loan that you signed for on Friday, but in this age of electronic money transfers, who knows?

I would definitely advocate that you call the DOE very first thing on Monday morning, but all you can do right now is keep your fingers crossed.

Good luck to you – I hope it works out!
